Did you know there’s a Christmas in January?
A significant number of communities around the world celebrate Christmas in January – the Orthodox Christmas. In some countries such as Egypt, Greece, Russia and Ukraine, Orthodox Christmas is a public holiday. There’ll be times for prayer, reflection and fasting. Some enjoy Holy Night supper with herring, sauerkraut, red borscht and perogies. You may also hear people singing koliadky. CBC News tells us more.
