Visible minorities vastly underrepresented in the boardroom, new disclosures suggest
Under the Canada Business Corporations Act (CBCA), publicly traded companies are required to report the number of women, Indigenous people, persons with disabilities and members of visible minorities on their boards and in their senior-management ranks. The Financial Post’s analysis found that out of 23 boards and 255 director positions, only 14 directors identified as belonging to a visible minority. Visible minorities are vastly underrepresented in the boardroom.
