How to achieve the fullness of diversity?

Since the early days of work, employees have been told to “leave their personal life at the door.” This has been especially true for those in positions of authority. However, a recent study shows that employees may be more willing to express themselves authentically at work. What does hiring for diversity mean? Are you hiring people from different backgrounds? Are you hiring for diversity in their problem-solving abilities? What could be some potential barriers in hiring for diversity? Diverse minds envisioning diverse things can produce extraordinary results. Take a look at how Tesla does it in this HR Reporter article.

In conclusion, achieving the fullness of diversity is possible when we all work together to understand and embrace our differences. Let’s continue to be open-minded and learn from one another, so that we can create a more inclusive society for everyone.

Transgender people still face a sizeable wage and employment gap in the U.S.—how companies can help

Employees may become more willing to express themselves authentically at work. However, they may still face mocking, discrimination, harassment, and/or even isolation. There is still a vast gap across all markets with regard to employment and pay with transgender people. A McKinsey & Co. report found that transgender adults are twice as likely to be unemployed as cisgender adults, and cisgender employees make approximately 32% more money each year than their transgender counterparts, even those who have comparable education. CNBC news has the story.

Transgender people in the United States continue to face a sizeable wage and employment gap. While transgender people have made considerable strides in recent years, there is still much work to be done in terms of improving their overall economic standing. In order to help close the gap, businesses can ensure that they are providing inclusive and equitable workplace policies for transgender employees. Additionally, companies can support transgender-led advocacy groups by donating money and goods, sponsoring events, or providing consulting services.

How Companies Can Drive Diversity, Equity & Inclusion In The Contingent Workforce

Economic downturns and a tight labour market are prompting companies to rely on alternative approaches to employment. Companies have grown their contingent workforce by over 50% since the pandemic. Focusing inclusion efforts on your full-time employees and contingent workers such as consultants, contractors and freelancers is now essential for business success. Forbes has some tips to share.

Contingent workers are employed on a contract, freelance, or temporary basis. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, contingent workers comprise about one-third of the workforce. This is a growing workforce sector as more companies look for ways to reduce costs and increase flexibility.

While there are many benefits to employing contingent workers, companies need to be aware of their legal obligations in order to ensure that these workers are treated fairly and have opportunities for advancement.
