Workers who tested 4-day workweek say they’ll never return to 5 days
Australia is one of the most culturally diverse teams at the 2022 World Cup
Employees at over 900 businesses around the U.S. and Ireland tested a four-day workweek in 2019. Not one has returned to a five-day version. In the pilot study, people worked 80% of the time, received 100% of their pay and maintained 100% of their productivity. This initiative was by 4 Day Week Global, a nonprofit, and researchers at Cambridge University, Boston College, and University College Dublin. Self-reported levels of the performance went up while burnout and fatigue went down. Leaders are willing to continue the 4-day work week because businesses didn’t suffer. CNBC news has more details.

Australia is one of the most culturally diverse teams at the 2022 World Cup
Whether or not you’ve been following the FIFA World Cup, “diversity, equity and inclusion” seem to have a part in these games. Topics such as human rights, equity vs equality, the ‘One Love’ LGBTQ rights armband, or FIFA President Gianni Infantino’s speech on “What we Europeans have been doing for the last 3,000 years, we should be apologizing for the next 3,000 years before starting to give moral lessons” emerged. Despite all these heated topics, we cheer for our athletes. The Socceroos, the Australian men’s national soccer team, are very diverse at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. 30% of the team was born overseas. Many others were born in Australia with migrant roots. The Socceroos released a video that explains how the lineup represents Australia’s diverse migrant history. SBS News has the story.
Diversity Recruiting – Definition and Why is Inclusivity Important?
Billionaire James Dyson says letting people work from home is ‘staggeringly self-defeating’ and will cause friction between employers and employees
Sir James Dyson thinks plans to allow employees to continue working from home in the United Kingdom are “staggeringly self-defeating.” Under the new law, employees in the UK will be allowed to request flexible work arrangements even on their first day of work. Sir Dyson believes that such a new move during a global recession will cause friction between employers and employees, and companies will hesitate to invest in the UK without the control over where employees work. Dyson is not the only one. In August, JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon pushed back on remote work. In November, Elon Musk emailed his Twitter staff, requesting them to return to the office for “a minimum of 40 hours per week.” MSN has the story.
